Root Canal Treatment
Root Canal Treatment (RCT)
Is a process to remove infection at the centre of the tooth. The infection can be caused by bacteria that are ever present in the mouth. These bacteria attack the tooth because of:
- Tooth decay
- Loose fillings
- Trauma related damage
Root canal treatment is needed when the pulp is damaged by the infection. This is confirmed by X-ray. If the bacteria has indeed invaded the root canal, allowing it to grow and multiply can cause the pulp to die.
The symptoms of an infection in the pulp of the tooth are:
- Pain while eating or drinking hot or cold.
- Severe pain while biting and chewing.
- Loose tooth.
These symptoms often disappear as the pulp dies because of the infection. This does not mean that the tooth has healed. In fact, it means that the nerves in your root canal have died and hence you cannot feel anything.
It’s a painful process, but our team make root canal very easy with our cutting edge technology. Contact us today to book an appointment.
